The Ligier JS 53 EVO has been designed by a team of highly-qualified, experienced engineers from the world of Formula 1 and LM P1 and P2 prototypes, who have taken full advantage of the experience gathered on the JS 49, JS 51 and JS 53.
Its carbon monocoque complying with FIA standards gives the Ligier JS 53 EVO very efficient aerodynamics. They have been developed in the wind tunnel and optimized performance and safety thanks to perfect balance and drivability. Power for the Ligier JS 53 EVO comes from a 2-liter Honda engine, which puts out 255 bhp transmitted through a 6-speed Sadev sequential gearbox.
The development of the Ligier JS 53 EVO is continuing with the pooling of resources and technical know-how of Onroak Automotive and Ligier, which joined forces at the end of 2013. The expertise of the Sarthe-based company’s and the Ligier team’s design offices, combined with the experience in endurance accumulated by OAK Racing, are two major assets that help to make the Ligier JS 53 EVO even quicker.
Thanks to the experience OAK Racing has gained in international motor sport, crowned in 2013 by the LM P2 teams’ and drivers’ titles in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the Asian Le Mans Series, the French squad will run Ligier JS 53 EVO prototypes in VdeV with the same aims.
